What is the major difference between quartz and granite?
Granite is a type of
natural stone. Quartz, however, is man-made. Many times people use the word "quartz" interchangeably with "engineered stone". The two stones are low maintenance and fairly stain resistant. Quartz is not heat resistant like granite, which means at high temperatures it will crack. A hot pot cannot be set directly on a quartz counter top. The first step is to provide cabinet drawings of the areas that require counter tops. From there, we can determine the amount of stone required and work on finding a counter top surface that fits your budget and vision.

Once we provide an estimate and you decide to proceed, we'll need 50% deposit from you and all of information on this checklist.  We're happy to help you work through this and always here to answer questions.

What is "templating"?

"Templating" is an industry term for final measurement for the project. All templates are done digitally for precision.

Installation is done two weeks after the template.

Can the template be done with the old counter tops in place?

We do not recommend having the template done before the preexisting counter tops are removed. The risk a possibility that the template will be off and the new counter tops will not fit tight.

How do you install the backsplash?

If a stone backsplash has been selected, we will install it and caulk between the stone. However, we will not caulk between the stone backsplash and the wall. This is typically done by the painter.  Standard backsplash height is 4" unless otherwise decided.
